Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to award a non-competitive cost reimbursable contract to Comite Caborrojenos Pro-Salud y Ambiente to facilitate efforts of reforestation on the La Tinaja tract of the Laguna Cartagena National Wildlife Refuge, Puerto Rico. The purpose of the project is to develop the necessary infrastructure for the planting of native species and initiate planting efforts on the Refuge. Native tree species are not readily available and relatively little is known about their reproductive biology and propagation techniques. This has been identified as a priority task for the recovery of both the endangered Yellow-shouldered Blackbird (Agelaius xanthomus) and the Puerto Rican Nightjar (Caprimulgus noctitherus). Caborrojenos Pro-Salud y Ambiente, a non profit organization located in Puerto Rico, will cost share on this project. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
