Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Discipline, National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) has a requirement for analytical, operational and administrative support services for the preparation and tracking of sample analysis. These services are to be performed by contractor employees in various professional, technical, and non-technical positions such as: chemists; biologists; laboratory technicians, computer operators, and clerical data entry support. The services will support water quality determinations for national programs involved with water chemistry and water-resource issues. The NWQL determines organic and inorganic constituents in samples of ground and surface water, river and lake sediment, aquatic plant and animal material, and precipitation collected in the United States and its territories by WRD district offices. The period of performance for the base period is estimated to be from January 1, 2003 through September 30, 2003 with four (4) renewal additional one-year (12-month) option periods. The issue date for the solicitation will be on or about September 23, 2002. The solicitation can be found at the following web address: http://ideasec.nbc.gov/. No hard copies of the solicitation will be available. Telephone requests for the RFP will not be accepted. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for SBA 8(a) certified businesses. Offers from concerns that are not certified as 8(a) by the Small Business Administration will not be considered. All responsible 8(a)'s may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the USGS. The Northern American Industry Classifications System (NAICS) for this project is 541710. See Numbered Notes 6 and 26.
