Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: 1.Based on the need to obtain quotes for the items on the equipment list provided at the meeting, need to obtain quotes for the facility work, and the upcoming Labor Day Holiday, would you consider extending the due date for quotes to ensure realistic pricing? WILL EXTEND UNTIL 10 SEP 02. 2.Does the USMC desire to retain the equipment removed from the facility or will the winning contractor be required to dispose of it? THE GOVERNMENT WILL DISPOSE OF THE EQUIPMENT. 3.Is there any available facility on Post for secure equipment staging and installation preparation to facilitate rapid installation in the room once access is provided? BLDG 2013, WHICH THE LOCATION OF CVIC SUPPLY CAN BE USED FOR A STAGING AREA. 4.Will partial system functionality extend installation time frame beyond seven-day dead line? Can the project be phased, i.e. provide VTC functionality then complete facility work (wall treatment & trim)? PARTIAL VTC FUNCTIONALITY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. WALL TREATMENT AND TRIM CAN BE PHASED. 5.Who would be responsible for relocating lighting if need arises due to placement of the ceiling mounted projector? Will the time required for this work be additional to that required for VTC installation? NO LIGHTING WILL BE MOVED. NO ADDITIONAL TIME WILL BE ALLOTTED FOR INSTALLATION. 6.Does the technical point of contact have specific locations of all external devices (touch panel, Computer Interfaces, etc) identified? YES, THESE WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF CONTRACT AWARD. 7.What are the specific system capabilities and operational expectations within installation time frame? VTC OPERATIONS, PROJECTOR, AND SMART BOARD ARE EXPECTED TO BE 100% OPERATIONAL. 8.Who was the original vendor that furnished and/or installed the blue fabric wall panels and custom millwork? THIS WAS PART OF THE ORIGINAL MILCON PROJECT (DONE AT PUBLIC WORKS), WILL RESEARCH THE PROVIDER BUT AT THIS TIME WE DON?T HAVE THE NAME OF THE VENDOR. 9.How many Computer sources will be required to be routed through the various displays? TWO THROUGH THE VTC, TWO TO THE SMART BOARD AND TWO TO THE PROJECTOR. 10.Where will the Computer sources be physically located? ONE WILL BE WITH THE VTC SYSTEM, ONE IN THE VTC ROOM, AND THERE WILL BE AN INTERFACE INSTALLED ON THE FRONT WALL FOR USERS THAT BRING A LAPTOP FOR USE WITH THE VTC SYSTEM. 11.Which sources (PC?s, VCR, DVD, Document Camera, etc.) must be sent to the far end? ALL SOURCES. 12.What sources are to be routed to and displayed on the Projector? PC, VCR, DVD, AND DOCUMENT CAMERA. 13.What sources are to be routed to and displayed on the Lef t Plasma Screen? FAR END 14.What sources are to be routed to and displayed on the Right Plasma Screen? NEAR END, PC?S, VCR, DVD, AND DOCUMENT CAMERA. 15.Which Computer will control the Electronic Write Board? ALL COMPUTERS MUST HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO GO TO THE SMART BOARD. 16.Will the Government furnish and install the necessary 120VAC power at the Projector, Plasma Screens, Write Board, and the Rack positions? YES, POWER WILL BE INSTALLED. 17.Is the existing wall strong enough to support the new NEC Plasma Screens or will wall-reinforcement be required? REINFORCEMENT TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE AS THE METAL STUDS. ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD MUCH WEIGHT. 18.As an alternative, can the Plasma Screens be mounted from the ceiling on post mounts instead of attaching to the wall? PREFERRABLY NOT, BUT WILL ACCEPT IF THIS IS BEST ALTERNATIVE. 19.Since there i s no access under the floor for cabling under the table, how are the Table Mic cables to be run to the Table? A FLEXIBLE CABLE CONDUIT IS ACCEPTABLE. 20.Is the space above the ceiling grid a plenum-rated space? YES. 21. Please clarify the following part numbers, according to AMX they are not valid: AMX RS232 Ports, I/O Ports - AMX I/O PORTS AMX ICSNET Cable Volume Controller - AMX CABLE VOLUME CONTROL 3 AMX Input Select Cables and Connectors - PROVIDED WITH SPECIFIED AMX SYSTEM ITEMS 22. Please specify Tandberg vtc model requested.. TANDBERG 6000 (768 kbps ISDN/768 kbps Ext. Netw./3 Mbps IP) NTSC/PAL *****THIS IS THE ONE REQUIRED.
