Description

U. S. Department of Commerce(DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), International and Interagency Affairs office, (IAIAO), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), Bethesda MD to provide a written report on overall commercial remote sensing industry based on data gathered in ASPRS ten-year Forecast. This study involves an extensive set of data analysis in chart and graph formats. Under the 1992 Land Remote Sensing Policy Act and 15 CFR 960, NOAA on behalf of the Secretary of Commerce, licenses private remote sensing space systems for operation. As part of its regulatory work, NOAA requires accurate information on the state of the industry, its relationship with aerial and GIS service providers, and its prospects for further development. Under this report ASPRS will provide a report to analyze and Explain Phase I and Phase II of the market study. NOAA shall gain a better understanding of the overall market as part of its regulatory responsibilities for commercial remote sensing satellite systems and inform decision-makers and the general public of the status and prospects for the overall commercial remote sensing industry. This is a notice of intent and cannot be consider a solicitation, therefore no solicitation package exist. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. Reference NEEA-77
