- The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a non-personal services contract for Radiology Technician Services. Duties are to be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, Kentucky. Duties include: 1) Completing all x-ray studies as ordered by the medical staff and assuring that all requisitions are completed properly. Preparing x-rays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation. Assuring that all x-rays and reports that are received back from the radiologist are reviewed by the Clinical Director. 2) Completing and filing of all x-rays reports in both the medical record and the x-ray file. Assisting the Health Services Administrator (HSA) by ensuring appropriate inspection schedules, maintenance of equipment and supplies and notifying the HSA or designee when supplies are needed. Provide in-service and compentancy training to the Health Services staff as required, ensuring competency training to the Health Services staff as required , ensuring competency to perform x-ray procedures. Maintain the Dosimetry program according to community standards, national policy and contractual agreement. Complete all x-ray studies as ordered by the medical staff and ensure that all requisitions are completed according to policy. Maintain current CPR certification and providing verification of the same. Assist in providing Improving Organizational Performance data through maintenance of appropriate daily x-ray logs, monitoring aspects of the program as indicated to ensure quality patient care performance. Establish and maintain an approved silver reclamation program/recycling requirements within Federal/State guidelines. Assist the departmental staff with healthcare delivery by assisting with patient flow needs, monitoring clinic patient schedules, answering/transferring telephone calls and performing typical office/clerical duties. The work schedule shall not exceed 15 hours per week. The weekly schedule will normally consist of three (3) - five (5) hour sessions per week, Monday through Friday (except holidays). Usage will depend on the need s of the institution. This is a non-personal services contract and not a personnel appointment. The solicitation 100% set aside for small business . The base year will run for twelve months from the date of award with four (4) twelve month option periods for renewal. It is anticipated this solicitation will be made available on or about October 1, 2002 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities website http://fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible foe monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The anticipated receipt of quotations is November 1, 2002. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm Fixed Price Requirements type contract. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered.
