- Description
- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Invitation for Bid (IFB) for construction of Replace Air Handler Units (AHU's) in the KSC Headquarters Building. The work consists of the phased demolition of existing AJHU's including removal and reinstallation of fixed exterior building panels and providing temporary air conditioning. Phased installation of the new AHU's includes integration with the Kennedy Complex Control System, commissioning and testing, adjustment and balance of systems. The work will include two priced options. Option 1 is all work associated with the center wings and fourth floor of the facility and Option 2 is all work associated with the two far east wings of the facility. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between five million and ten million dollars and the base bid effort shall be completed within 438 calendar days after notice to proceed. The Option 1 effort shall be completed within 465 calendar days after notice to proceed with Option 1 and the Option 2 effort shall be completed within 401 calendar days after notice to proceed with that option. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235110 and $12.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about September 21, 2002 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about October 21, 2002. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 2001-08. The firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the IFB.= =20 Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office. All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
