Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for DRY DOCK repairs and modifications. This acquisition is for DRY DOCK repairs to the NOAA Ship RUDE, a 90 foot, 22 ft beam (molded); 7 ft 8 in draft, propulsion - diesel twin screw, electric 225/450 volts AC; crew size - 11. Vessel's homeport is Norfolk, VA. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. The performance period will be 37 calendar days with a start date on or about December 4, 2002 and shall be completed on or before January 9, 2003. Basic and Optional contract items include but are not limited to temporary services; dry docking and routine dry dock work; sea valve overhauls; miscellaneous steel and piping repairs; underwater body coating; hydraulic steering system repairs; deck watertight hatch repairs; mast preparation and preservation; mast preparation and preservation (repeat); pump overhauls; A-frame upgrades; void space preparation and preservation; tailshaft and bearing inspections; tailshaft repairs; after steering preparation and preservation; above water hull preparation and preservation; electric motor overhauls. Foreseeable costs will be applied for contract evaluation. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications number MOA/MED/09-02, dated August 2002 and NOAA standard specifications, to be provided. Vessel will be available for inspection October 12, 2002 at Kings Point, NY (subject to change. Arrangements for inspection can be made by contacting the Port Engineer, Neil Lamartin at (757)441-6369). At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as a RFP under full and open competition procedures. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Copies of the solicitation will be available on or about September 25, 2002 and will be provided in response to email, or written faxed requests received directly from the requestor.
