CBD Notice ISSUE DATE: 9/6/02 POSTED DATE: 9/9/02 FSC CODE A:=20 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TITLE: RESEARCH SERVICES FOR TUBERCULOSIS TRIALS CONSORTIUM SOL: 688-12-03 DUE: 9/23/02 @ 3:30 EST AGENCY:=20 Attn: Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC, 50 Irving Street, NW, Washington, DC 20422 POC: Point of Contact:=20 Joan VanMiddlesworth, Chief, P&C (202) 745-8413, Contracting Officer =96 Joan VanMiddlesworth, Chief, P&C, (202) 745-8413 DESCRIPTION: In accordance with FAR 6.302-3, the VAMC Washington DC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) to continue participation in the Tuberculosis Trials Consortium (TBTC) (Little Rock, AR area), funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is a Follow-Up Program that will provide, by the Little Rock unit: 1) conduct current studies of the TBTC, recruiting and enrolling patients and reporting data and events, as required; 2) participate in periodic on-site reviews by assigned monitors and in all quality improvement activities of the TBTC; 3) take part in national group meetings of the TBTC and in conference calls, as arranged; 4) contribute, as arranged, to study design and protocol development; 5) assist, as arranged, in development of presentations and/or publications of study results; 6) comply with all federal research standards; and 7) provide to the Washington VA, interim and annual, reports of expenditures and projections. The anticipated amount of expenditure is approximately $100,000 or less for each of the two expected contract years (base year will run 10/1/02 through 9/30/03 and option year 1 will run 10/1/03 through 9/30/04). This is a notice of intent and is NOT for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or a request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.=20 Responses must be received no later than 9/23/02, at 3:30 P.M., EST.=20 No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
