Description
The U.S. Department of Energy?s National Energy Technology Laboratory is publishing this Synopsis/Non-Competitive Solicitation (RFQ) in accordance with FAR 5.203, FAR 12.603 and FAR 13.105. The U.S. Department of Energy?s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is publishing this synopsis/non-competitive solicitation for the purchase of the Siemens Procidia Control System for the Fuel Processing Laboratory (FPL)from Gilson Engineering Sales, Inc. Gilson Engineering Sales, Inc. is the only known authorized area distributor and supplier for the Siemens Procidia Control System. The Siemens Procidia Control System, as specified, will provide several needed features that other control systems of this type cannot provide. Procidia will provide the automatic generation of several important configuration elements that will greatly reduce the overall configuration effort. For example, the 1/config software accommodates both continuous (function block) and discrete (ladder logic) control requirments, and the database is automatically generated from controller configuration whereupon the HMI (Human Machine Interface) is generated from the database which minimizes the possibility of manual errors. In addition, i/config has existing pre-formatted control strategies such as a library of algorithms and preconfigured function blocks that make configuration as simple as dropping blocks on a sheet. Procidia will also provide on-line monitoring of configuration values to aid in troubleshooting efforts.
