Description

The Air Force Metrology Calibration Detachment is considering the purchase of seventy-six (76) Synchro/Resolver Standards capable of calibrating the most accurate angle position indicators or synchro-to-digital converters. This instrument will be laboratory grade capable of simulating a synchro or resolver. This instrument shall be a self-contained instrument and can be remotely controlled by a computer via an IEEE 488 bus. The instrument can simulate dynamic and static operation including slow ship roll to rapid radar antenna scans. This instrument will have a 2 arc-second accuracy traceable to NIST. They will have continuous CW or CCW rotation to 100,000 deg/sec. Frequency is 47 Hz to 20 kHz. The 5300 is the most accurate programmable Synchro/Resolver Standard available. The instrument simulates all types of static or continuous synchro/resolver rotations, from slow rolls to fast slew rates. It can be used to test or calibrate high accuracy synchro/resolver-to-digital converters for static or dynamic characteristics such as tracking rate and bandwidth remote sensing.
