- Description
- The COASTSYSTA intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Vehicle Control Technologies (VCT) for modification of the AN/AQS-20A localizer algorithm. The AN/AQS-20 Localizer algorithm is being configured for use in the MH-53E, MH-60S, and shipboard configurations. Recently, VCT was tasked to modify and analyze the AN/AQS-20A localizer Algorithm to be compatible with the three platforms. Based on the results, the Localizer Algorithm requires additional modification for shipboard and MH-53E configurations. VCT is the only company that can accomplish this task because VCT has performed all of the mathematic modeling for the AN/AQS-20/A tow body. VCT is the company that created and owns the localizer algorithm. To accurately modify the localizer algorithm is critical. Use of another company to conduct the modifications may introduce new, or change existing parameters th at may induce unacceptable errors into the localizer algorithm. Failure to have an accurate localizer algorithm could result in significant damage to the AN/AQS-20A tow body and maybe even loss of U. S. Navy vessels. Therefore VCT is the only company that can meet Government requirements.
