Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command is in the planning stage of a procurement for the replacement for its current Unit Level Circuit Switch (UCLS) equipment. The Transition Switch Module (TSM) will provide commercially available circuit switching technology to replace the aging TRI-TAC family of equipment (AN/TTC-42 adn SB-3865). It will provide all of the services currently available in USMC switching equipment in a smaller, lighter package. Additionally, the TSM will provide enhanced multiplexing capabilities and an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) capability. The TSM will provide a flexible Unit Level Switch capability that bridges legacy TRI-TAC switches with current commercial technology to provide Marine maneuver elements with more robust voice/data switching, data transport, and bandwith management capabilities. The TSM is anticipated to be a three transit case solution that will be fielded to all units that currently have a circuit switching capability (Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and Major Subordinate Command (MSC) through Regiment). To facilitate planning efforts, the program office will host an Industry Day on 17 October 2002 at 0900 in Building 3300, 3rd floor (MCCDC Auditorium), MCCDC, Quantico, VA 22134. The Government will provide an overview of the TSM program. In addition, the Government will schedule, with interested parties, one-on-one meetings tentatively scheduled for the period 13-15 November 2002 at Building 2079 (Daly Hall). To asist in the development of the Purchase Description and the Statement of Work for the TSM, the Government is seeking information on current state-of-the art technologies from industry that may enhance TSM capabilities. Accordingly, the Government desires to meet with technical personnel capable of presenting information that may enhance the capabilities of the TSM. The Government will not entertain sales, marketing, and/or corporate capability briefs. Each meeting will last no more than 2 hours. Due to space limitations, interested parties are requested to limit attendance to no more than 3 people. Interested parties should submit a written response, on corporate letter head, to the following address: COMMANDER, MARCORSYSCOM, 2033 Barnett Ave., Code CTQIDP, ATTN: Ira D. Patterson, Quantico, VA 22134-5010.
