Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is contemplating award of a sole source purchase order to Thermo Noran, 2552 West Beltline Highway, Middleton, Wisconsin 53562- 2609, for a Wavelength Dispersive System (WDS) to include hardware and software. The procured system must interact with the EDS system currently existing and operational at Benet Labs. Thermo Noran has the proprietary rights to the interfacing of new hardware and software for the EDS system. (a) WDS Spectrometer system, including multi-element spectrometer, universal diffractor turret for analysis of up to six primary elements, proportional counter and elctronics, and motor and electronic control system. (b) Software for Windows to allow for high-resolution identification of overlaps in EDS spectra. Must have the ability to acquire, save, and load spectral data, automatic peak search and identification, KLM markers, peak hinting, peak labeling, print preview, and report analysis. Must be able to operate in Vantage 1 software system or equivalent NT based computer system and have one available PC serial port. c) CrSc element diffractor with 80 angstrom 2d spacing for analyzing nitrogen. (d) Element diffractor, with 60 angstrom 2d for analyzing oxygen and nitrogen with oxygen the primary element. (e) Multi-layer maximum element diffractor with angstrom 2d spacing for analyzing carbon. (f) Manually operated dual-action gate valve for spectrometer. (g) System to be installed and calibrated. (h) On-site training shall be provided (8-16 hours) See numbered note 22.
