Description
Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract for DoDDS Schools to participate in all components of the Cognitive Tutor Algebra I and Geometry Programs. This requirement includes subject matter expert (Trainer), transportation, site license, and all materials. This is a standards based program that combines instructional strategies with the integration of technology. This program was inspired by NCTM standards, and makes connections between multiple representations and modeling real-world situations. The software program and site licenses follow the cognitive tutor mode. The Cognitive Geometry program incorporates geometric concepts and development of spatial reasoning skills. Through group activities, manipulatives and software, it enables the transition from concrete to abstract thinking to occur. Using interwoven collaborative classroom exercises and software, the teacher is empowered to implement the proven Learning by Doing pedagogy. The technology guides enabled individualized learning paths for each student. Anticipated date of issue on or before July 29, 2002 with award anticipated on or before August 16, 2002. It is not anticipated that any other available sources exist because of the standards based structure of the program. Any firms desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their interests and capabilities within 10 days of the date of publication of this synopsis. Requests for further information may be addressed in writing through e-mail to mary_sullivan@eu.odedodea.edu. No telephone requests for copies of the RFP will be accepted. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (09-JUL-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 12-SEP-2002.
