Description

This notice is for informational purposes only. This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source purchase with American Airlines, Ft. Worth, TX. This procurement is for photocopies of the pilots' micro-fiche flight records from American Airlines for the 1978-1991 period. Background: NIOSH is conducting a study to examine the relationship between cosmic radiation exposure and the frequency of chromosomal aberrations in a group of ninety (90) American airlines pilots estimated to have high cumulative cosmic radiation exposure based on flight histories and a comparison group of (50) university faculty with minimal flying history. This procurement is for photocopies of the pilots' micro-fiche flight records from American Airlines for the 1978-1991 period. Supplies or services: Retrieve from archives, the micro-fiche (pre/post) that lists the flight numbers flown by the pilots for each day/month of the years requested, and link it to the microfiche (leg detail) that contains the arrival/departure cities and times. NIOSH will provide American Airlines with the names and employee numbers of the pilots as well as their written permission forms and the years required. American Airlines will provide to NIOSH the photocopies of the microfiche (both pre/post and leg details) for the years requested. Total person-years requested: 212.35 This is a Simplified Acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00.
