Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA 94404, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is to be issued under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The purchase is for one (1) each of the following: 1) #3100-AVANT Genetic Analyzer; 2) #4334642 Software Update; 3) #4317379 GENESCAN Module; 4) #4316472 384-Well Plate Kit; and 5) #4316471 96-Well Plate Kit. This system has the following unique features and specifications: instrument has a four capillary array, upgradeable to a 16 capillary array; the array is available in four lengths: 22cm, 36cm, 50cm, and 80cm; capillaries are uncoated silica capillaries; uses a thig walled CCC camera with spectrograph color separation; is capable of five dye detection; instrument is capable of analyzing multiple runs of samples, four samples per run; operates without user intervention (unattended) for 24 hours; capable of autoloading samples from a single 96 or 384 well plate; has simultaneous dual side illumination for signal uniformity; and the instrument has software that has electronic sample information that can be automatically imported from an external data-handling system. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 8 days of date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Applied Biosystems. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available.
