- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number 33-3K47-02, is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ), and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-08. The Government intends to negotiate sole source with Cepheid, 904 Caribbean Dr., Sunnyvale, CA 94809 pursuant to FAR Subpart 6.3. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. Your responses/quotes shall include literature, brochures and other such information in order to determine the ability to meet the stated capabilities. The Government will award a firm-fixed-price contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. This RFQ is for a Smart Cycler. The USDA minimum requirements are: The thermal cycler must have 16 individually programmable sample processing sites (and be expandable to 96 sites) using the 25 uL and/or 100 uL optically integrated reaction tubes. Each of the 16 reaction sites must have its own independent thermal and optical control system. The Cycler must have the capability to detect four spectral bands using high-intensity LED emitters and silicon detectors for 4 color real-time, simultaneous, optical excitation and detection. Software, computer, monitor, operating manuals and delivery cost shall be noted on your quote. Faxed quotations are acceptable to T.C. Mitchell at 301/504-0333 on or before September 28, 2002 by 4 p.m. (EST) or quotes may also be mailed or hand delivered to the Contracting Address by 09-28-2002. Any and all questions must be in writing and faxed to 301/504-0333 no later than September 20, 2002 by 4 p.m. (EST), no phone calls please. Delivery address will be USDA , ARS, USNA. FNPRU, Bldg 010A Room 129, Beltsville, Maryland 20705. Time frame for delivery should be within 60-90 days after award and minimum 24 hour advance notice of delivery is required. Anticipated award date is September 30, 2002. The NAICS code is 334516, with a size standard of 500 employees. To facilitate EFT for contract payments, FAR clause 52.232-34 and 52.232-35 requires the submission of information by the contractor to the payment office.
