Description
NA The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD has a requirement to obtain a wave generator system. A new capability is being developed at Aberdeen Test Center call the Littoral Warfare Environment. This test capability provi des the user to accurately replicate the water to shore interface including water, surf, beach and waves. A wave generator system is required and must meet certain parameters and conditions to produce accurate test conditions. The system must meet the fo llowing parameters: a) Fit and or be attached to a 100 foot concrete wall, b) Make waves 100ft. across the width of the wave generator, c) Must accurately make waves in both small and large sea states including sea state 3, and d) Be provided with all com ponents, power sources, control systems, monitoring systems and weather protection components. The system must have the ability to: a) Continuously create waves with periods ranging from two to seven seconds and heights up to six feet, b) Produce random w aves of sea state 3 levels in accordance to the Pierson-Moskowitz criteria, c) Provide directional wave capability, to make angled waves without changing the position of the wave generator system, d) Ensure the power source is not commercial electric but i s provided with the system, and e) Provide control system capable of inputting unique frequencies to wave generator to customize the shape of the waves being produced. The period of performance is 18 months. The solicitation will be posted to the followi ng website: http://abop.monmouth.army.mil on approximately October 7, 2002. The solicitation closing date will be approximately November 11, 2002.
