- NA The Targets Management Office (TMO), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is interested in gathering information on currently available scoring equipment or systems for use on Army test and training ranges. The system must be able to score bullets traveling at sub- sonic velocities accurately. Specific interest is for 7.62mm and .50 caliber ammunition at distances of 800-2000 meters. The system must be configured and ruggedized to survive on training ranges in environments throughout the world where U.S. forces are deployed. The Government requests information describing the equipment, accuracy, and technology used (acoustic, Doppler radar or other). Any company with the expertise to provide the described equipment is invited to submit information on current products meeting the general characteristics stated in this announcement and the reason(s) why a suggested product could be expected to achieve th e capabilities requested. The following provision is added to this Request for Information, 52.215-3--Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1977), (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and Proposal Costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although 'proposal' and 'offeror' are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of obtaining information only. Any information or documents submitted in response to this request that are considered to be proprietary must be identified with the appropriate markings.
