Description
The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is seeking sources to manufacture spare parts for the B-1-B Bomber. The spare parts will be arranged into various Market Baskets that group together similar items based on the strength of their shared attributes. Shared attributes may be based on similar manufacturing processes and/or materials. All parts are considered fully competitive and will be manufactured in accordance with technical data packages owned by the Government. DSCR is considering soliciting this acquisition as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. To set the acquisition aside, DSCR must determine if there is a reasonable expectation of receiving two or more responses to the proposed solicitation from small businesses. Accordingly, DSCR is issuing Request For Information (RFI) #082202JDH1 and RFI #091202JDH2 prior to issuance of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Interested Small Businesses who have experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, materials requirement planning, and electronic commerce are requested to respond to the RFI no later than October 24, 2002. The RFI, along with the draft Statement of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM listing of National Stock Numbers) will be posted to the following web address: http://www.dscr.dla.mil/vendors.htm, click on "Acquisition Management Division" at the bottom left hand side of the screen; then click on B-1-B. The RFI, along with the draft SOW and BOM will be posted to the web address around September 20, 2002. Technical data packages may not be available until issuance of the solicitation. These documents may also be obtained by submitting an email directly to Jacquelyn Harris, email address Jacquelyn.Harris@dscr.dla.mil, phone number (804) 279-5232, fax number (804) 279-3715. Responses should also be emailed to Ms. Harris at this email address. The Government anticipates issuing the solicitation in approximately 60 to 120 days after receipt of responses to this RFI. Applicable NAIC Codes: 3222, 3241, 3251, 3253, 3256, 3259, 3261, 3262, 3272, 3312, 3314, 3324, 3325, 3327, 3336, 3334, 3343, 3353, 3346, 3359, 3364, 3363, 3399. Note: The draft SOW is the same for both RFIs and the RFI covers two different sets of BOM/NSN listing.
