- The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a one-time, sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with Martin Electronics, Inc., Perry, FL, under Request for Quote (RFQ) 807079. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Martin Electronics, Inc., is to provide the FBI with 4,800 each MEI Practice Diversion Device (Flashbang) fuzes?P/N MEI-403. FOB-Origin to FBI Academy, Quantico, VA. Based on market research via the Commerce Business Daily in May, 2001, and the World Wide Web sites it has been determined that the FBI?s requirement for the flashbang fuzes can only be provided by Martin Electronics, Inc., because they are the only known vendor that produces the required flashbang fuzes. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00 PM, EDT, Friday, September 27, 2002, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, at (202) 324-1172. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 325998; the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted. See Note 1 and 22.
