Description
This is a notice of intent to award, on a sole source basis, for commercial items prepared in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures and within the format identified in Subpart 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; the Department of Justice, subject to the availability of funds, has a need for the lease of approximately fourteen (14) commercial, indoor parking spaces at 325 7th Street , NW, Washington, DC, from Interpark, on a sole source basis. This order consists of a base period and (4) option years as follows: Base Period - October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003, Option Period I - October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004, Option Period II - October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005, Option Period III - October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006, Option Period IV - October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007. The provision 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors?Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Provision 52.212-2 Evaluation?Commercial Items applies. OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THIS AWARD (a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days; provided that the Government shall give the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 60 days before the award expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended order shall be considered to include this option provision. The total duration of this order, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed 60 months. Quotes are not being request and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-09 [effective as of September 30, 2002]. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals,bids or quotes. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
