- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) has a requirement to purchase a NMR Instrumentation System. The Government is using the policies contained in FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in this procurement. The main components are: 1) an 800 MHz NMR spectrometer, 2) an upgrade of our existing Varian Unity 500 MHz NMR spectrometer to include a new console or new console + 11.75 Tesla magnet, and 3) a set of NMR probes for use with these instruments and for use with the instruments currently available to the NIEHS NMR group. More specifically, the NMR consoles provided, as part of this purchase must be multi-channel consoles capable of performing modern, state-of-the-art structural NMR studies. The NMR probes should include an inverse 5 mm 1H, 13C, 15N-triple resonance X, Y, Z gradient probe, and a cryogenic 1H, 13C, 15N-triple resonance z gradient probe for the 800 MHz instrument, as well as a conventional 1H,13C,15N-triple resonance, pulsed field gradient probe for use with the 500 MHz NMR spectrometer. NIEHS also request additional probes, including high sensitivity, low temperature triple resonance probes with z-gradient coils for use with the 500 MHz NMR spectrometer and/or with the existing Varian INOVA 600 MHz spectrometers currently available to the NIEHS NMR group. NIEHS also request an inverse 1H{19F} NMR probe with z-gradient capability for performing 2-dimensional proton-fluorine NMR experiments on the 500 MHz NMR system, and on a conventional broadband NMR probe covering nuclei from 31P down as far as possible, with 1H/19F decoupling coil, single or triple axis gradient coils, for observations at 800 MHz. In addition, the quotation should include an extended, parts only warranty of five years so that replacement parts will be sent to repair problems, at least 6 - 10 days of on-site training in the use of these instruments, and at least 2-3 years of online application support. NAICS No. 334516 applies, with a size standard of 500. The salient characteristics will be specified in the solicitation statement of work. Requests for solicitations must be submitted in writing at the above address for consideration by the Agency. No telephone requests will be accepted. Faxed requests are acceptable at fax number 919-541-5117. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (20-MAY-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 24-SEP-2002. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
