Description

ISSUE DATE: 07/24/02. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for the project new siding, doors, re-roof and asbestos abatement at the boathouse at USCG Station Fire Island, Babylon NY. The work includes, but is not limited to, removing vinyl siding, gutters and downspouts; removing one overhang door; removing asphalt shingle roof, 1 layer and flashing; remove one vinyl double hung window; remove seven exterior wood doors and jambs; new vinyl siding and corner guards; new olefin house wrap; new sold vinyl double hung insulating window; new fiberglass, self-sealing roof shingle; new copper flashing; new baked enamel aluminum gutters and downspouts; new fiberglass pre-hung doors; new aluminum threshold; two lightning rods, copper wiring and ground rods (2); remove ?? thick 4? x 8? asbestos transite panels; new ?? gypsum drywall installed in ceiling area; and incidental related work. The estimate cost range of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 07/24/02. The date for receipt of quotes is scheduled for 08/23/02 at 4:00 pm. This solicitation is issued under the Small Business Demonstration Competitiveness Program and is unrestricted. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
