- Description
- Construct two earthen dikes with keyway trenches and flashboard risers, one ditch plug with keyway trench, and approximately 3000 linear feet excavated swales for the restoration of a wetland area in Allendale County, South Carolina. The combined length of the two dikes is approximately 1,918 linear feet. The ditch plug is 50 linear feet in length, 40 linear feet in width, with wing dikes at the downstream end. Major items of work include: 8.5 (est.) acres clearing and grubbing; 5,000 (est.) cubic yards compacted earth fill; excavation for 3,000 linear feet constructed swales; 89 linear feet - 15" corrugated metal pipe (for barrel pipe); 6.6 linear feet - 30" corrugated metal pipe (riser pipes); and 1.7 (est.) acres seeding. Performance time, including mobilization and anticipated weather delays, is 40 calendar days. The estimated price is within the range of $25,000 to $100,000. The solicitation is subject to simplified acquisition procedures on an unrestricted basis. The NAICS code for this procurement is 234990. The solicitation will be available for viewing and/or downloading from website, www.fedbizopps.gov, on or about October 10, 2002. Contractors and suppliers are encouraged to utilize this website to: 1) search for announcements of federal contracts, 2) register to be notified by email as additional items are posted for a particular solicitation, 3) register to be included on the list of interested vendors for a solicitation and 4) download the solicitation package, amendments, and other items posted for a solicitation. Interested parties are invited to attend a site showing on October 15, 2002. The site showing will begin at 9:30 A.M. in the Auditorium, James Brandt Agricultural Building, 398 Barnwell Highway, Allendale, SC.
