- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Pacific in Alameda, California, proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of USCGC Dorado (WPB 87306), homeported in Crescent City, California, during the period of 29 January 2003 through 11 March 2003. A proposed work list includes: production control, Gantt bar chart provide; appendages (underwater) leak test; appendages (underwater) preserve, internal; hull plating, underwater body inspect; hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing; skeg structural modifications; voids (non-accessible) leak test; voids (non-accessible) preserve, internal; voids (underwater) air test; propulsion shaft seals mechanical overhaul & inflatable renewal; propulsion shaft stern tube coating; propulsion shafting remove and install; propulsion shaft external bearings renew & check clearances; propeller clean/inspect; electric meter calibration; fathometer transducer renewal; pressure gauges and thermometers (critical) calibration; sea valve (<=2.5 inches) renewal; sea valve (>2.5 inches) overhaul; rudder inspect and repair; decks (slip resistant sheet) preserve; forepeak bilge preservation; hull plating, underwater body preserve, partial; rudders (exterior) preserve; cathodic protection/zincs renewal; deck coverings (interior wet) renew/replace; temporary services, drydock provide; drydocking. On or about 15 days from issuance of this notice, an Invitation for Bid (IFB), will be issued, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Contractor?s facilities must be located on the West Coast of the United States, Columbia River and south, to be considered responsive. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rate to provide accounts receivable financing.
