Description

NA There are several questions yet to be answered that Industry has asked. During this week as I get them they will be posted. Below is the Question and Answer to a question posed by Industry. Question: The draft RFP for the solicitation above indicates on page 97 that the DBMS software must be Oracle 9i Release 2, Informix Dynamic Server 9.3, or MS Access. Would the Government entertain a proposal that would include the Sybase ASE v12.5 enterprise class data base? ASE can coexist AND work closely with the other major database servers on the market. Answer: The CHS-3 concept is to provide CHS-3 system configurations, which are defined as integrated combinations of CHS-3 items needed to satisfy specific operational and maintenance requirements of the Battlefield Functional Areas(BFAs). As of this time, no BFA system developer currently using CHS-2 has identified their need to us to acquire and utilize the Sybase DBMS as part of the CHS-3 system. Until an appropriate BFA developer identifies and justifies this need to us, we do not inten d to include the requirement for the Sybase DBMS as part of this procurement.
