Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement to purchase preventive maintenance for the JEOL 8900 Electron Microprobe to include: SCANNING MICROPROBE/ADS (2)+BEI 12005-01 -JXA-8900; ADDITIONAL SPECTROMETER ADS; HIGH SPEED BACKSCATTER UNIT BEIH; BEAM STABLIZER BST; FOUR CRYSTAL SPECTROMETER FCS; HP 745 WORKSTATION; NORAN-EDS DETECTOR; WATER RECIRCULATOR R050THE USGS ANTICIPATES AWARDING THE PURCHASE ORDER TO JEOL USA; this contractor is the manufacturer of this system and has ready excess to the necessary proprietary software, instrument diagrams, circuit boards, and vendor supplied parts needed to make repairs or replacements to the JEOL Microprobe System. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; no formal RFQ will be available. This award will be made on or about 1 October 2002, under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000,00. Any Vendors who are certified to provide maintenance on JEOL instruments are invited to provide an affirmative response to this notice by faxing capability statement to the CO at 703-648-7367. All responses must be received in this office within 5 calendar days from the date this publication first appears. All responses must be in writing, no telephone requests will be accepted.
