Description

DESIGN/BUILD HVAC SYSTEM IN CHAPEL BLDG T-305 AT LAJES FIELD, AZORES, PORTUGAL. Work includes but is not limited to the following: One step turnkey design and construction of an HVAC system in the base chapel at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. The contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of the HVAC system to include design package submissions at the 35%, 65%, and 100% submittal stages. This project shall include installing the necessary cooling system and ductwork to service the entire first floor of the structure. Exterior electrical upgrades may be necessary to accommodate the increased electrical load imposed by the cooling system. The performance period for the project design is 180 calendar days, with another 180 calendar days for the construction phase. The magnitude of this project is between 250,000 and 500,000 dollars. Performance Price Tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement and proposals will be solicited on a firm-fixed price lump sum basis. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 235110. This requirement gives preference to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. This procurement is unrestricted. All responsible sources meeting the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposal (RFP) may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Government. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov on or about 26 Jun 02. A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about 11 Jul 02. The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, or drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium. All contractors interested in receiving notification of updates/amendments to the solicitation posted on the EPS are urged to enroll on the web site mailing list for this acquisition. Those contractors enrolled will be notified automatically of any changes made to the RFP through their e-mail addresses. No telephone requests will be accepted.
