Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Optical Technology Division, has a requirement for the design and fabrication of a Cryogenic Michelson Interferometer Subsystem This Subsystem will become a key part of the Fourier-Transform Thermal-Infrared Transfer Radiometer (FTXR) being developed by NIST for making highly accurate in-situ measurements of the radiance from infrared sources in calibration chambers throughout the aerospace industry.*****The completed subsystem will consist of: (1) A Michelson Interferometer Cube; and (2) All necessary electronics, hardware, and software required to perform mirror scans, align and operate the cube, and obtain performance specifications listed in the solicitation.*****The contract will be divided into two (2) phases. Phase 1 of the contract will include design and parts acquisition. The option for phase 2 of the contract will be for assembly and testing of the system. *****The period of performance shall be 12 months from date of award with the option to extend the period of performance by one (1) year for completion of Phase 2.***** FOB is Destination, Gaithersburg, MD.*****This requirement is being procured using full and open competition.*****A cost-no fee or cost-plus fixed fee contract is anticipated.*****The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees.*****The competitive Request for Proposal (RFP), RFP amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizops.gov/ under RFP number SB1341-02-R-0040.*****The RFP is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about June 12, 2002, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFP in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. There is no written solicitation document available, telephone requests will not be honored, and no bidders list will be maintained.
