THE ANNOUNCEMENT/SYNOPSIS FOR EXCELSIOR SPRINGS JOB CORPS CENTER [RFP# JCRV-02-02] WHICH FOLLOWS COMPLETELY REPLACES THE PRIOR ANNOUNCEMENT/SYNOPSIS FOR EXCELSIOR SPRINGS JOB CORPS CENTER [RFP# JCRV-02-02]:----- ----- Request For Proposal (RFP)# JCRV-0202, for the operation of the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center which includes provision of academic, vocational, social skills and career development training and related support for an estimated total of 165 residential male students, 140 residential female students and 190 non-residential students. In addition, the RFP includes provision for Outreach and Admissions services in the state of Missouri, Counties of Jackson and Clay, for the arrival of a minimum of 325 students into the Job Corps program annually and include provision for Career Transition Services annually for 555 youth returning to designated workforce investment areas in Missouri. This contract includes the operation of the Job Corps Center; recruitment of individuals for the Job Corps program as well as providing post-center transition services to eligible program participates 16-24 years old. A pre-proposal conference will convene at 9:00 am CDT on Friday, October 18, 2002, at the Kansas City Satellite Center of the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center, 2402 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri, Telephone Number 816/861-2353. Upon entering the facility, prospective offeror?s must stop at the front desk where they will be given instructions for the conference. Immediately following the pre-proposal conference there will be a walk-through inspection of the Kansas City Satellite Center, followed by a walk-through inspection of the main campus of the Excelsior Springs Center, 701 St. Louis Avenue, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. It is recommended that the RFP be downloaded from the website prior to the pre-proposal conference. In addition, it is recommended that prospective offerors bring the RFP to the pre-proposal conference. All questions prior to the pre-proposal conference should be submitted in writing. Interested offeror?s should limit their attendance to no more than (3) individuals. Parking at the Satellite Center is limited. Proposals in response to this RFP will be due no later than 12:00 pm (noon) CST, on Friday, December 20, 2002, at the following address: U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Job Corps, City Center Square, 1100 Main Street, Suite 1000, Kansas City, Missouri, 54105-5141. All responsible sources may submit a proposal to be considered by the agency. The RFP will be available on the World Wide Web on or before October 16, 2002, at http://wdsc.doleta.gov/jobcorps/ It is anticipated that the resultant contract will cover the period beginning July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2005, with three (3) governmental unilateral renewal options of one year each. Directions to the Kansas City Satellite Center: From Downtown Kansas City, take Interstate Highway 70 (I-70) east to Interstate 435 (I-435); take Interstate 435 south to Eastwood Traffic-way, Exit 65. Turn right on Eastwood Traffic-way to Blue Parkway, then turn right on Blue Parkway. At Cleveland Avenue, Blue Parkway becomes Swope Parkway; continue west on Swope Parkway. The Satellite Center is on the right side of the street, a yellow brick building, one block west of Prospect Avenue. 2402 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri. Directions to the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center: From the Kansas City Satellite Center, turn right, west, on Swope Parkway for approximately one block to Highway 71, the Bruce R. Watkins Parkway. Turn right, north, on Highway 71, toward Downtown Kansas City. Just south of Downtown Kansas City, follow the signs and take Interstate 35 North. Take Interstate 35 North to Exit 20, just north of Liberty, Missouri. Turn right, Exit 20, onto Highway 69 and proceed northeast on Highway 69 to Excelsior Springs. At Highway 69 and Highway 10, exit onto Highway 10 and proceed through town to St. Louis Avenue. At St. Louis Avenue, turn right; the Job Corps Center will be immediately on the left side of the street.
