Description
The purpose of this notice is to add the quantity. QTY: 2333 each. The USAF will issue a RFP for the Metallic Seal applicable to the F100PW229 Engine of the F15/F16 Aircraft. NSN: 2840-01-442-9118NZ; P/N: 4083668-01, Predominant material: Nickel Alloy; Size/Dimensions: approximately 11.03 inches X .25 inches. Balance seals limit the amount of exhaust gas pressure escaping between the nozzle segments. The seals have heat resistant coating that protects the balance segments from high exhaust gas temperatures. Anticipated award date: 30DEC02. A firm-fixed price, fixed-quantity contract is anticipated. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved and qualified. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. The solicitation will provide further information for qualification. Government-furnished drawings are not available. Reference AFMCFARs 5309.206-1(e)(1), the following notes apply to the procurement: Note A, Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. Note D, the requirements of FAR 9.202(a) have been completed and copies of the qualification requirements and standards may be obtained as described in the solicitation. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
