Description

The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services for heating repairs, maintenance, and replacement of boilers at five (5) housing units at the U. S. Coast Guard Housing Area, Sitka, Alaska. The estimated start work date is 30 calendar days after receipt of notice of award, with a required completion date of July 31, 2003. No physical work in the housing units shall be performed prior to May 15, 2003. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The NAICS Code 235110 is assigned. The size standard is 11.5 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. FUNDS ARE NOT PRESENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THIS CONTRACT. THE GOVERNMENT?S OBLIGATION UNDER THIS CONTRACT IS CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF APPROPRIATED FUNDS FROM WHICH PAYMENT FOR CONTRACT PURPOSES CAN BE MADE. NO LEGAL LIABILITY ON THE PART OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR ANY PAYMENT MAY ARISE UNTIL FUNDS ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings may be accessed for download beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be August 16, 2002) from the Government-wide Electronic Posting System website (FedBizOpps) at http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted solely on that website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. Companies not having the capability to download solicitation documents may refer to a list of printers available through the Tri-Service Solicitation Network, http://tsn.wes.army.mil/TSNSolicitationPrinting.asp. Printers on this list can download and print drawings and other solicitation documents for a fee. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000.00 with interest at the prime rate.
