Description
Provide professional engineering services to prepare the design development program submission, preliminary drawings, working drawings, specifications, including the cost estimates, and construction period services to facilitate award of construction contract to Renovate Acute Care, 7th Floor of Building 200. The project will totally renovate the 7th Floor (21,290 gsf) for Acute Care, Medical/Surgical beds in Bldg. #200. The design will accommodate 40 acute care beds meeting all healthcare industry standards with patient privacy and ADA accessibility requirements. New Patient rooms will be private and semi-private each with a window view. The work shall include the survey, asbestos abatement, demolition, wall alterations, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, equipment, fire protection, Life Safety and Communication systems. Comprehensive CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) Services including a full time IH during abatement shall be provided. All architectural, mechanical, electrical, Life Safety Health Care codes including JCAHO, NFPA, etc. must be adhered to during the design of this project. Estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 100 miles of the Hines VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. Submit two (2) copies of SF 254 and SF 255 with appropriate documentation by close of business November 11, 2002. Selection criteria will be based on: (1) Past performance on similar projects, (2) Maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (3) Overall engineering design experience and capability with architectural, mechanical, and electrical renovation projects; (4) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; 5) Knowledge in design and construction requirements; and (6) Cost control effectiveness. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). NAIC #541310 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
