- Description
- The National Nuclear Security Agency Nevada Operations Office (NNSA/NV) is seeking sources interested in the operation of cafeteria services on-site at the Nevada Support Facility (NSF) located at 232 Energy Way, North Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a secured facility and only authorized personnel may gain entry. This is a market survey for written information only. This is NOT a solicitation announcement for proposals. There is no solicitation available at this time. This is a market search whereby the Government is seeking written information only from sources interested in providing these services. A separate synopsis will be issued in the FedBizOpps when the solicitation is going to be issued. It is anticipated that a 12 month contract will be issued with up to four 12-month option periods. Although the NNSA/NV has not made a final decision as to contract type, a "no-cost" type contract is preferred. The resulting solicitation will be processed under full and open competition procedures. The North Las Vegas site currently has approximately 381 people and frequent visitors who could potentially utilize the cafeteria services. It is anticipated that 40%-to 60% may elect to eat at the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch. The service required will include breakfast, lunch and the provision of snacks and hot/cold beverages available at all times. The hours of operation for the cafeteria are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Description of facilities: Main Level of NSF, 232 Energy Way, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. The square footage for the cafeteria is 5200. Seating capacity is 250 people. Cafeteria services will be provided 5 days per week, Monday through Friday except holidays observed by the Federal government. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide a variety of quality prepared foods. The contractor shall meet business and industry standards of quality and nutrition and comply and support the 1990 and all subsequent revisions of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines. The variety and appearance of food in the cafeteria on each operating day shall be consistent with approved food service industry standards for comparable "business and industry" cafeterias?. The NNSA/NV requests interested parties to submit a one to three page synopsis describing your capabilities as a cafeteria services provider and the services (i.e menu) your firm could provide. All capability statements will be reviewed by the NNSA/NV. Creative approaches to providing the cafeteria requirements are encouraged. A tour of the cafeteria will be provided by the NNSA/NV on November 4, 2002 at 3:30 local time. In order to attend the tour offerors MUST contact the Contracting Officer in writing, providing the name of your firm and the number of people attending. Offerors not attending the tour may submit capability statements. The NNSA/NV does not intend to have a pre-solicitation conference. The Government will provide a dining area including tables and chairs. Trash and garbage is removed once after 4:00 p.m. from the dining area receptacles only. Utilities, including gas, electricity, water and sewer, and utility connections to include gas, electricity, water and sewer will be provided by the government. Any interested firm should submit a capability statement to demonstrate the firm's qualifications/ability to provide the required services. The deadline for submission of the capability statement is November 19, 2002. The point of contact for this action is Beverly Colbert, telephone (702) 295-1466, E-mail: colbert@nv.doe.gov. Submissions should be sent to NNSA/NV, Contracts and Property Management Division, PO Box 98518, Las Vegas, NV 89193-8518.
