Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is TIRSE-03-Q-00004 and is being issued as request for quotations. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-09. This requirement is set-aside for small business for which the North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 333924. The Internal Revenue Service, 4300 Carolina Ave., Richmond, VA 23222 is looking to acquire a lease of 3 years with an option to return the equipment if the service is no longer needed, of a turret truck, which will be able to maneuver unobstructed through aisles in order to place and retrieve full pallet loads. This equipment is used on a daily basis but not constantly throughout the day. We estimate that the monthly usage is about approximately 20 hours. Some basic requirements are listed below, however due to the technical nature of this type of vehicle, the contractor will have to survey the environment to collect detail specifications to satisfy all handling and operating requirements, which will be demanded of the equipment: Truck capacity of 3,000 lbs. @24? load center, lift height of at least 207?, overall (lowered) height of 115? or less, 42?forks to accommodate 42?x48? pallets, Traverse frame width that will allow placement of 48? long pallets deep into rack without repositioning forks, 9? fan mounted above and behind the operator, Electric wire guided to accommodate a 6.25 kHz @78 MA RMS wire guidance system, Battery equipped with a single point watering system that is compatible with our current pump system and battery charger.To schedule a site survey please contact Margaret Baker at 404-338-9213. As a part of the cost of the lease, a maintenance agreement should be included to cover the same period of time as the lease. The maintenance agreement will provide regularly Scheduled preventive maintenance as required by the manufacturer, which includes parts and labor. The maintenance agreement should cover repairs and maintenance due to equipment/parts failure caused by normal usage of equipment. After placing a call for service, the response time should be no longer 24 hours.
