- NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) on a sole source basis for five (5) each, CTD Deck Unit, Model SBE-36; five (5) each, Underwater Power/Data Interface, Model SBE-19p-9; five (5) each, Modifications to add 300 Baud Sub-channel; Model SBE-36/PDIM; five (5) each, PDIM Test Cable, 6 Meter (DN 31314), Model SBE-80813; five (5) each, SEACAT PROFILER pumped Conductivity, Temperature, Depth Recorder, Model SBE-19plus; five (5) each, 600 Meter Plastic Housing, Model SBE-19P-1A; five (5) each, 350 Meter Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor, Model SBE-19P-2C; five (5) each, 4-Differential A/D Channels, (0-5v input range), Model SBE-19P-3A; five(5) each, Delete: SBE 5M pump and TC-Duct from Standard Configuration, Model SBE-19P-4A; five (5) each, CTD Interface Cable for use with SBE-19/25, 2 Meter, Model SBE-17292; five (5) each, Y-Cable: C-STAR/LSS-6000 to SBE 19plus, Model SBE-171549; five (5) each, Interface Cable, Chelsea Minitracka (DN32162), Model SBE-171193; and one (1) each, 6-pin to RMG-4MP I/O, Model SBE-17762. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/SSC intends to purchase the items from Sea-Bird Electronics Corporation. Authority: 10 U. S. C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on October 15, 2002. At a minimum, the following information shall be provided: Descriptive literature of the offered items, Prices, Manufacturer's name, Brand, Model number, Discount terms, Business size, Taxpayer Identification Number, and Cage Code or DUNS Number. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
