- Description
- This project involves the construction of a new center to be located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The center will be a new two-story structure consisting of approximately 53,000 square feet of usable space. The building is going to be a concrete footing foundation with CMU wall partitions and Brick Veneers. The roof will be mainly metal with modified bitumen roof around the roof mounted mechanical units. The center is scheduled to be open by the summer of 2004. The center is designed to be a 250-person non-resident facility. The estimated cost range is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. The period of performance for completion is 356 calendar days, with substantial completion to be achieved within 300 calendar days, from Notice to Proceed (NTP). Plans and specifications will be available on or about October 28, 2002, from the office of the U.S. Department of Labor/ETA, C/O Billes Manning Architects, 650 Poydras Street, Suite 1250, New Orleans, Louisiana 70150-6101. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall only be directed to Billes Manning Architects to ensure proper handling of requests. Please provide your EIN number (Tax ID Number) on each check, or money order. Failure to do so may result in your deposit not being refunded. Requests must be in writing, and a $200.00 bid deposit that is refundable when plans and specifications are returned. This bid deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to the A/E Firm at the time of request. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication and shipping of the IFB documents. Pre-bid Conference is scheduled on November 21, 2002, at 10:00 A.M., local time at the New Orleans Job Corps Center (site). Bid Opening is December 12, 2002, at 2:00 P.M., local time at the Architect/Engineering office mentioned above. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside acquisition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 233320. The size standard is $28.5 million. HUBZone, small disabled veterans, woman-owned small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) businesses and small businesses are encouraged to apply.
