- Bechtel Nevada is seeking sources that can provide the following item to include certification that it meets the following requirements: GAS-BLOCKED 1/2-INCH 50-OHM FOAM DIELECTRIC SMOOTH OUTER CONDUCTOR COAXIAL CABLE GENERAL. DESCRIPTION: A 1/2 -inch, 54-ohm coaxial cable, consisting of a solid bare copper center conductor, foamed polyethylene dielectric, smooth wall aluminum outer conductor, and an outer jacket of white polyolefin. This cable is gas-blocked completely by using selected materials and sealant materials as required to gas-block the cable. DIMENSIONS: Finished Cable O.D.: 0.650-inch, Max. Inner conductor O.D.: 0.179 inch. Outer conductor O.D.: 0.500 inch. APPLICATION: Transmission of fast rise-time electric pulse and withstanding the following range of environmental conditions: Temperature: Flexing (Installation and Operation): -20F to +165F Open-End Gas pressure, without leaking after Bending and Temperature Cycling: 125 psig, Min. REQUIREMENTS: Electrical: Characteristic Impedance: 50.0 ohm, Max. Velocity of Propagation: 77%, Min, Attenuation vs. Frequency in dB/1000 ft: 10 MHz 2.8 Max. 100 M11z 9.1 Max. 1000 MHz 35.0 Max. 2000 MHz 54,0 Max. 3000 MHz 71.0 Max. Pulse Reflection (Time Domain Reflectometer): 1% Max. of incident pulse amplitude. de Resistance per 1000 ft:Inner Conductor: 0.65 ohm, Max. Outer Conductor: 0.75 ohm, Max. de Voltage Withstand and Leakage Current: 15kVdc. Mechanical: Bend Radius: No less than 6.0 inches Tension: 600 lbs.
