Following is the general production process for the M804E1 Projectile Metal part. 5.25 round cornered square 1050 Steel is received from the mill, the billets are cut into mults. The mult is heated and forged and allowed to air cool. The forging is roug h turned, nosed, and heat treated. The part is then sent to bore face and chamfer operation, finish turned, a band is pressed on and finally sent to painting. The various machine, nosing, and heat treat operations are performed as required in TDP. Thro ughout the process various non-destructive tests are performed. It is required that only companies who SERIOUSLY feel they are capable of manufacturing the M804E1 Projectile Metal Part are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief description of their capabilities, qualifications, and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria.
