Description

Code: R = Sources Sought The purpose of this notice is to seek potential bidders and to announce a site visit for a future acquisition in accordance with FAR 15.201(c). In January 2003, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will issue a solicitation for the purpose of bidding on the construction of a rockfall deflector and catchment area on the rock slope above the left abutment of Upper Stillwater Dam. The work is located in Duchesne County Utah in the Uinta Mountains and is at approximate elevation 8,200 feet. The area can receive heavy snow fall throughout the winter months. To provide an opportunity to see the site prior to heavy snow fall, a site visit is planned for November 12, 2002 at the dam at 11:00 am. All parties that will be attending the site visit should first meet at the Central Utah Water Conservancy District Office, 766 North Center Street, Duchesne, Utah at 9:00 am. Attendees will need to furnish their own transportation to the site. The work is located at Upper Stillwater Dam approximately 40 miles northwest of Duchesne, Utah. The dam can be accessed by traveling to Mountain Home, Utah and taking Rock Creek Road. Rock Creek road is an asphalt paved roadway and will be plowed of snow if necessary to see the site. The work will consists of the following: 1. Constructing rockfall deflectors and supports. 2. Construct catchment areas with gabion baskets and supports. 3. Scaling and removal of loose rock. 4. Rock bolting small areas of the rock face. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
