Description

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Statistics of Canada a purchase order for services to provide health statistics to improve health care for the populations of Canada and the United States. The services include data collection, transmission, processing, editing and delivery of a master and public use file. This is a joint effort between Canada and the United States. Statistics Canada provided the same services for the Canadian Government using the Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing Program (CATIP). This project requires the use of the CATIP to ensure comparable statistics and low percentage of error rate. Comparable statistics are critical to improve the health systems and provide better health care for the populations of Canada and the United States. Statistics of Canada is the only known source that can meet these requirements. This requirement involves human subjects. The vendor must also comply with laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to managing and performing research involving human subjects including but not limited to the HHSAR Clause 352-280-1(b), "Protection of Human Subjects." We anticipate award in November 2002 with a performance period through June 2003. The RFQ will be issued on or about 21 October 2002. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) for this request for quote is 561422. Note 22 and 26.
