Description

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Foods Safety and Nutrition (CFSAN), has a requirement to purchase on a sole source basis Mirage Software Perpetual Licensese (150 seats), along with annual maintenance. This purchase will be made from Alchemedia Technologies, Inc. located in Grapevine, TX. It is the understanding that this vendor is the sole source and manufacturer of the software. This software is the only software known to the Government that prevents the unauthorized capture and distribution of sensitive documents being viewed on-line by FDA personnel. Mirage is unique in terms of its reliability to ensure against screen capture. Mirage is unique in providing protection against screen-capture by thirdy party software obtainable for free (in most cases) off the internet such: Snagit, Hypersnap, Jasc Paintshop Pro, A.S.C.T., and Timbuktu. Mirage is the only software that has been found that is invisible to end-users in the following ways; access to documents is granted invisibly, no need to enter passwords, no need to sign-on to separate applications to view/use protected documents. Mirage is the only software found that eliminates the need for user name and password administration. Mirage is unique because: it accomplishes the assignment of rights to given documents and there is no need to individually assign authorization rights retroactively to each document in the OFAS' current database of electronic documents. Mirage is the only software found that provide the option of "secure print" (printing from a designated printer, with a watermark and complete activity logging) along with the option to disallow printing altogether. Mirage is the only software found that eliminates the need for document authors to laboriously assign protection separately to each document. Therefor, award will be made on a sole source basis and no solicitation will result from this announcement.
