- This will be a Firm-fixed price requirements contract for repair of the following components of the Combined Altitude Radar Altimeter (CARA) System: Signal Data Converter, applicable to APN-232, NSN 5895-01-445-1432CW, P/N 85900000-04, Best Estimated Quantity: 10 each for the Basic period of performance and 10 each for Annual Option 1. Required delivery is 21 days after receipt of reparable or order, whichever is later; or 3 days after notification of SURGE requirement, MICAP or Priority 1 backorder. The approximate issue date will be 4 Nov 02 with the approximate response date of 18 Nov 02. The solicitation will be placed on the web at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies or services required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting Officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear serious concerns that are not resolved through established channels. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting Officer, but to communicate serious contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
