Description
The Government has a requirement for a M11 Pistol Mount Interface(PMI) for use on the M11 Pistol. The PMI shall provide a military standard (MIL-STD-1913) mounting surface for M11 interface accessories without permanent modification to the baseline weapon. The PMI shall be capable of being mounted and removed with the tools available to the Unit Armor: Small Arms Repair Kit (NSN:5180-00-357-7770) (Threshold) or without the use of tools (Objective) and shall allow for attachment and detachment of compatible devices while the rail remains attached to the weapon. The PMI shall not increase the overall length of the weapon. The weight of the PMI shall not exceed 5 oz. The color shall be black. Exposed exterior surfaces shall have a non-reflective matte finish. The PMI when mounted on the M11 Pistol shall be capable of withstanding a drop of 5 feet onto a flat concrete surface without any damage that adversely affects its function. The PMI when mounted shall remain aligned to the weapon's frame to within 0.3 mil in any direction. The PMI shall not degrade the accuracy and targeting of the M11. The PMI shall sustain no damage or deformation due to weapon firing effects, come loose from the M11, or loosening of any parts of the PMI, and shall withstand temperatures induced in the weapon by a sustained rate of fire without any damage, deformation, melting or loss of functionality to include environmental durability standards. There will be an initial quantity of fifty (50), which may be subject to First Article Testing. Thereafter, there will be production options anticipated to include a quantity of 5,000 (FY 04),a quantity of 10,000 (FY 05), a quantity of 10,000 (FY 06), and a quantity of 10,000 (FY 07). This proposed contract will be 100% small business set aside. Numbered Note 1 shall apply to this proposed contract.
