Description
Jacksonville, Florida, Renovation and Alteration (Modernization), Charles E. Bennett Federal Building, Small Business Networking Session. On Tuesday, November 19, 2002, The United States General Services Administration (GSA) will conduct a Small Business Networking Session for prospective Small Business Subcontractors for the construction phase of The Charles E. Bennett Federal Building Modernization Project. The Networking Session will be conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in The Bennett Federal Building, Room 116, 400 West Bay Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The Bennett Federal Building will undergo a complete interior modernization. Upon completion the renovated space will be occupied to The United States Internal Revenue Service and other Federal agencies. The Estimated Total Project Cost (ETPC) is between $20,000,000 and $25,000,000. The modernization project will consist of hazardous materials removal, interior demolition, the installation of new HVAC and electrical distribution systems, as well as the final space build-outs for the tenants. The Subcontracting Networking Session is intended to affirm GSA's recognition of the talent that exists in the Small Business Community and its commitment to opening a dialogue between that community and the construction firm that has been selected for this modernization project. Prospective Small Business Subcontractors will be given an opportunity to network with the selected prime construction contractor and to showcase their special talents and abilities as qualified subcontractors. Although it is anticipated that this Networking Session will assist the Prime Contractor in identifying qualified subcontractors to meet the subcontracting goals established for this project, because GSA is not permitted by law to be a party to contractual relationships between potential Primes and Subcontractors, any contracts that may develop as a result of this Networking Session will be strictly private arrangements between the interested parties based on perceived ability and need. Questions about the Networking Session may be directed to either David Gibson, GSA's Small Business Outreach Specialist, Telephone (404) 331-2366, E-Mail: DavidA.Gibson@GSA.GOV; or Pat Geisinger, GSA's Small Business Technical Advisor, Telephone (404) 331-3031, E-Mail: Pat.Geisinger@GSA.GOV.
