Subject: Nightvision Equipment SOLNBR:5TC1503003 RESPDATE:October 25, 2002 Contact: POC, Charles Dukes, Jr. (312-353-5532) Desc: GSA/FTS, Region 5 is announcing its intent to issue a procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302.3 for a sole source acquisition to Gans & Pugh Associates, Inc., 690 Center St. Herndon, VI, 20170. Products and services required for work and/or delivery to be accomplished are: Night vision equipment that is used for deployment at the Border Patrol field offices. Required equipment is only available from Gans & Pugh Associates, Inc., who is the exclusive authorized representative for United States Government Sales on behalf of Infrared Components Corporation and it?s product offerings of the manufacturer of the night vision equipment. The equipment is described as follows: Long Range Cooled Thermal Imaging camera for Security/Surveillance. This equipment includes: 75-250 mm/ff/2.3 DFOV Lens; 320x240 Indium Antimonide Detector;100mmf/2.3 mF lens; 3-5 Micron Remote keypad;digital video;gen lock capability;environmentally dealed enclosure (heated and cooled); RS232 Interface and other items. This requirement is identified by reference number 5TC1503003. NAICS Code 4214- (Professional and Commercial Equipment and Supplies Wholesale) applies. Size standard is 500+ employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals by the designated response date. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future, if another requirement arises. Responses are due no later than October 25, 2002, 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time, to GSA/FTS (Region 5), Attention: Charles Locke, 230 S. Dearborn Street, Room 3380, Chicago, Illinois 60604.
