Description
The requirement is to procure Aircraft Integrated Maintenance Rotor Track and Balance systems (?AIMS systems?), and related supplies and services for the CH-46E Helicopter. It includes aircraft kits, ancillary hardware, and engineering and technical services necessary to upgrade CH-46E aircraft. The main components of the aircraft kit include: AIMS Processor Unit, Acquisition Control Unit, Memory Card, Sensors, Aircraft Installation components and Ground Software. This product is an adaptation of the existing VXP Balancer/Analyzer previously procured from Chadwick-Helmuth for the CH-46E. The AIMS monitoring system when installed in the CH-46E aircraft will provide continuous monitoring of rotor track and balance data, vibration levels of all rotating pumps and drive shafts and will provide aircraft crew and maintainers immediate feedback of the aircraft operating condition and engine performance. The Government intends to procure these items on a sole source basis with Chadwick-Helmuth Company, El Monte, California, which is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the Aircraft Integrated Maintenance System and the only known company with the knowledge, experience, and technical data required to fulfill this need. Chadwick-Helmuth was selected and qualified by the Original Equipment Maintenance (OEM), Boeing Helicopter, as the source for the 8500C Balancer/Analyzer is currently being used for the CH-46. The AIMS rotor tracker and balance system function will be performed using the same proven algorithms as developed for the 8500C system. The duration of the BOA will be through October 2005. note 22. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (12-AUG-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 21-OCT-2002.
