Description
The US Army ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources to undertake a Public Private Partnering (PPP) program to exploit the benefits of advanced welding, fabrication, and manufacturing techniques in armament applications. ARDEC is interested in industry submissions addressing challenges to the field of welding with respect to producibility, hardware, technology, control systems, and information systems. All interested firms shall submit their technical capabilities (1-10 pages) for the above to include the following at no cost to the Government. (1) Practical knowledge of the application of solid state, arc welding, energetic beam, and other welding process to new materials, to include titanium, aluminum, and metal matrix composite materials. (2) Capability to develop robust welding parameters in aforementioned processes and materials, validate parameters through testing, and apply these parameters successfully to prototype manufacture. (3) Capability to manufacture, assemble and test (lab test) armament system component prototypes. (4) Capability to capture welding data in electronic format and transmit data electronically to other government or industry sources. (5) Ability to generate and maintain technical data packages on armament systems in a PRO-E or compatible solid model format. (6) Active membership in American Welding Society Code or Specification Committees, particularly in advanced materials such as titanium. (7) Ability to develop new non-destructive evaluation methods for application to welding processes, to include the development of analytical software, equipment hardware, and validated test methods. (8) Practical knowledge of the application of improved welding technology to promote the application automated welding techniques in production. (9)Practical knowledge of the application of improved welding inspection methods to promote the application automated inspection techniques and further the non-destructive evaluation of new materials. (10) Practical knowledge of the application of new welding processes to improve the production rates, quality, and lower the cost of welding. Any drawings and/or initial experimentation results/test data may be included along with your technical capabilities. These submissions will not count towards your technical capabilities page count limitation. The technical capabilities shall be submitted electronically fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice to U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, Attn: Stephen Luckowski, AMSTA-AR-WEA, Bldg. 3150, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, e-mail: stephenl@pica.army.mil and Mr. Jamal White, AMSTA-AR-WEA, Bldg. 355, e-mail: jamwhite@pica.army.mil. Also, if there are any technical questions, the Point of Contacts are Mr. Stephen Luckowski at (973) 724-3373 and Mr. Jamal White at (973)724-3007.
