Description
This synopsis was originally posted on September 27, 2002 as 15-RFQ-SSA6-02. The correct solicitation number is 1-RFQ-SSA6-03. Please refer to the corrected solicitation number. The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide Medical Consultant (MC) Services in the specialties of internal medicine, psychiatry, psychology, ophthalmology and orthopedics. The services will be performed at the Social Security Administration Regional Office located at the Social Security Administration Regional Office at 1301 Young Street, Dallas, Texas. This acquisition will be for commercial services procured using the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12. The contractor?s responsibilities will include providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from reviews of SSA disability case files; consulting with SSA medical policy staff related to the development of SSA disability policies; training other MC contractors and other personnel; working with Government and non-government agencies and/or medical or non-medical personnel that have related interests in providing input regarding SSA programs and its objectives. Some travel may be involved and there will be no contact with patients. Offerors must have: (1) a valid license to practice medicine in Texas; and (2) be available for onsite work a minimum of 8 hours per week between the hours of 6:00 am and 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. The period of performance will be January 1, 2003 or date of award, whichever is later, through December 31, 2003, with provisions for four one-year options. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about October 21, 2002 with quotes due approximately 22 days later. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 621111 and the size standard is $8.5M. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Fed Biz Ops (FBO) web page at www.eps.gov on or about the solicitation release date. All parties interested in submitting a proposal should download the solicitation from the FBO web page. All interested parties should provide their name, address, and telephone number and e-mail address. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored.
